Alright, because I've been asked, this tutorial is sort of a collaboration of the techniques I've been using lately for my icons - and I probably will keep using in the forseeable future. I was asked for specifics, but because I don't save the .psd's, (read: big mistake) it's near impossible to use guesswork to make individual tutorials. So, using this tutorial alone, you should be able to make many like icons.

But don't worry - if I use a specfic major texture or technique, I'll address it. :]

I apologize in advance if the mass tut is too hard to follow. I can never be sure. :o
It's long. Very long.

I'm definitely gonna have to reassess my icons after this. Maybe with - is it possible? - less Zelda and more videogames that I've been ignoring.
Like Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil. Oh my god, that is about the best game ever...next to Zelda. Seriously, if you run into a rainy day, go rent it or something. I forgot how good it was (albeit easy) until I came across the screens on GamePro. So then I had to make a bunch of icons.
This batch has a couple of Zelda icons using a cool tutorial I tried (Under Tutorial List 1 in my Memories), and then the nineteen Klonoa caps. The quality of the Klonoa icons isn't that good, but it's for the game, right?

I finally got around to changing the settings...about three years too late. So I have hundreds of posts not friend's only, and that's my fault.
But I'm gonna be showing off more stuff here now, and I'd like to know who's viewing.
So comment to be added. <3

Well, there's nothing left to do now but hope that I can make up for that disappointment with this year.
I'm not putting anything under 'audition' on the list. That's basically setting myself up for disappointment.
Yeah. Like I did just then. Why I'm sad now.

1) Stop correcting people.
2) Get college stuff accomplished.
3) Try. At everything.

Two out of three for last year. Hey, if it were rock paper scissors, I would have won, right?
Correcting is something I do without realizing, but I think I've gotten better about it.

This year's resolutions are simpler and more general.

1) Stop trying to "try and be right" (but in my house, defending your point is "trying to be right").
2) Loose the water weight.
3) Try and be more socially active.

I think I can do that.

Look at your LJ userpics list. If you have fewer than 50 icons, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five icons, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five icons, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly why you have it, why it's interesting to you, and what significance it has.

Went and visited Rollins College over the weekend. Extraordinary campus, food, and curriculum; I fell in love with it. And two days ago, I would have written an extensive blow-by-blow of my Saturday. But thanks to a chat with my mom, I'm left back to a feeling of neutrality towards it. She reminded me that though there wasn't anything that we saw to dislike, it was still a small college; a state university might be a better experience for me. The anonymity versus the scrutination may be more comfortable, or more challenging. Either can only help. Regardless, FSU and Rollins College are my top two choices, both for the creative writing program.
I tell my friends I want to be an author, and the first thing they say is that I'd starve to death. T_T

Homecoming was ghetto.
I had ACT in the morning, though. From 8 to 1:00. Talk about weird. The English was the easiest, I know I did well there. But I barely finished the reading, and math and science I had to Christmas Tree the last ten questions or so. That test is definitely not made to be finished. The science was toughest, because the graphs were hard to understand and by that point - the last section before the optional writing - my eyes couldn't focus on the page. I hope I did okay though. I have no time for a retake.
But afterwards I had a hair appointment for 2:30. It took her about 40 minutes to do my hair; not as good as Prom was, but still pretty. Then I went home, and did my nails while I watched Transformers. Because the Transformers rock.
It took me longer than I thought to get ready after that, but at 5:30 I left to pick up Brandon and Joanna. For non-school friends, Brandon is a friend I asked to Homecoming, and Joanna is a good friend of his that hung around with us. Neither of them have licenses yet, so I was the designated driver. ;]
We ate at Ruby Tuesdays, and saw a bunch of people, including my sister again with her boyfriend. She's a freshman, so this was her first Homecoming. We left at around 7:45, and got to the dance a little after eight. Not much to explain about the dance, cause my sister is making me get off the computer, but I definitely had a better time than my Freshman and Junior years. I felt better, and actually danced with a bunch of people. More friends than guys though, but that's a given. We got out at 12:10 and I drove Brandon and Joanna home. Once I get the photo we bought there I'll try and scan it onto LJ.

I have to have in a bunch of stuff for my "eighth period" Art class by Thursday or I get an F for the quarter; on top of ACTs Saturday that I need to study for, but can't because of band events from Thursday evening on. Wednesday I'm taking photos for this art class, and tonight I'm trying to make ends meet with this huge debate project. It's a wonder that I can hold down work. And that only gives me Sunday, busy all day Saturday with ACT and Homecoming, to finish the draft of my WL paper, look for my Bari mouthpiece, work on my Extended Essay, College Apps., and Everyday Heroes story. So much for National Novel Writing Month. Maybe it's good that I didn't make the one-acts, otherwise I would have rehearsals to go to. But I still have the duet I need to learn my part for. WL paper draft is due next Monday, the EE draft due the Monday after that, and I still haven't met with my advisor. I was supposed to do that before the 15th, but band owned my time. I canNOT wait for marching to be done with, only band kids know how much more time I'll have in that regard.
On the plus side - so surprised there is a plus side - while I'm in Old Melbourne taking photos I think I can finally get my school bag, if one of the stores has it in stock. And marching rehearsals are shorter, given that there's nothing besides FBA to rehearse for in marching.

Let's see what I was doing this time two years ago:

October 23, 2005

Mikayla came over while her aunt and uncle were away. So we hung out, went to RJ Gators for dinner that wasn't all that good, and went to see Flightplan. That was a cool movie, alot like I thought it would be when I saw the trailers. I got a book at Waldenbooks, a Moolatte, movie-gear, etc. If you didn't gather it from her latest entry, Mikayla really liked the movie, too. When we got back she chatted online until about 12:30 a.m, then we went to sleep sometime between 1:30 and 2:00 a.m. I got up at 7:40 or so and ate with everyone! Mikayla's leaving soon (after chatting more) and both of my grandparents are staying over here for the hurricane. So I have to clean up my after-party-wreck-of-a-room again for them. Fun...-_-'
One of the grandmas is over here already, so I have to go. Mikayla's leaving in a couple of minutes.

Matt: Just to clarify it, not that you would angry comment or anything, but she came over because her AUNT and UNCLE were away from HOME. Thank you ^-^

Our Crown Jewel competition was yesterday. We got first runner up - I thought that it was our best show yet, possibly in the four years I've been there. At least from my perspective.
Two years ago, Crown Jewel would have been today...

October 15, 2005;

Hehe, had that weird song stuck in my head.
Crown Jewel was more fun than I expected; the weather helped. I felt that the show we marched was the best yet, but there's still more shows to come. Orlando, then FBA is around the corner.
Afterwards I waited for Matt's parents to be done so that they could take me home, and we ate snacks out of the chaperone's room. When I got home I had pizza. I was going to go back to Crown Jewel, but after I marched I was too tired. Matt and I are going to the movies in about ten minutes, though, to see the Corpse Bride.
Oh, I forgot to put my two cents in on Friday's game. Alumni coming was so cool. Julie sees me and goes, "Amanda!...Jen Rice!" Some things never get old. And I got to see all the people that graduated last year, as well as some old(er) faces I didn't recognize; old drum-majors and band members. That was fun. I'm tired. Glad I have no homework, otherwise I would be sacked.

Went to Halloween Horror Nights last night. 6 pm to 2 am, oh yes. My first time, but everyone said that I did well, considering the houses.
Alyssa, Kristen, Greg, Matt and I went together. Expect to see the T-Shirts tomorrow. ;P
We went in all the houses, but in order we went to A Nightmare on Elm Street: Dreamwalkers (Freddy Krueger), Dead Silence: The Curse of Mary Shaw, Vampyr: Blood Bath (rave much?), Friday the 13th: Camp Blood (Jason Voorhees), The Thing: Assimilation (really gross movie), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Flesh Wounds (Leatherface), Psychoscareapy: Home for the Holidays, and Jack's Funhouse in Clown-o-Vision. We went to Friday the 13th twice, the second time after Jack's Funhouse.
All the houses were really cool. I know the scareactors did the best they could with hiding - and some, like the ones in Vampyr, did a really good job - but the majority of them you could see before they popped out at you. I wasn't as scared as some of the others in the houses, but I did think Dead Silence had the most scare factor of all the houses. The Thing house wasn't nearly as bad as the movie - the movie was just really, really gross. And most of the actors that jumped out in that house were good guys that snuck up behind you, telling you to leave. I thought Jack's Funhouse and the chainsaw massacre house were the coolest, and Psychoscareapy had the best decoration effects. But both Psychoscareapy and Jack's Funhouse I thought were the least scary. But Kristen and Alyssa might not agree. xD
The scarezones were cool too. But as the night went on, they were less surprising. Most of the people by 2 am didn't flinch at the chainsaw men or clowns at all. Got a picture with Jack the clown. His hands were around my neck and Alyssas. ><

I think I'm going to be a puppet for Halloween, inspiration from Dead Silence. I told Kristen she should face her fear and be a clown, but she refused.

Band Camp goes without saying. You pretty much describe it by just saying "Band Camp". So I'll skip those two-and-a-half weeks.
Saturday was the day everyone scheduled their parties, mainly to gawk at tan lines. I went to Mikayla's from noon to 5, then Ashley's from 6 to 10. I left early from that one though; I was getting queasy from all the dancing, and a bunch of people were going home anyway. I got Mikayla a $30 Hot Topic Card, and Ashley a bath set from Sears in a cute beach bag.
Today we spent the day - and upwards of $200 - in Millenia Mall. "The Mall of Millenia", what have you. I got two hoodies, one light and one heavy, one pair of shorts, four or five shirts, and two notebooks that were just cute. They had a Forever XXI, so we were set. The light hoodie is a cream white with drawstrings that have japanese lettering, and the heavy one is a navy blue with large pockets, buttons, and a heart pattern on the inside. I like those two best out of what I got.
Tomorrow I'm getting two reference forms filled out for the school district - I'm applying to work one of the REC programs in North County. Hopefully Sebastian Elem. The hours aren't bad, and weekends/holidays I get off. But I work 5 days a week.
School in eight days. Wish me luck. >>

Summertime, v.2 I guess.
Randomly hung out through July with friends, until HP and Hairspray invaded. Then I tore through the book/movie, what have you, and saw Hairspray four times. Figure that out.
Leadership retreat was cool. Better than I thought it was going to be - somehow I thought that it would be more work.
Saw Hairspray with 1) Matt and Alyssa, 2) Parents and sister, 3) Matt...again, 4) Mikayla, Maike and Shawna. Remember kids: 3's a crowd, but 4's a party.
And to those of you that haven't discovered the awesomeness of potterpuffs, do it now. Look them up under users or something, I don't care. But you've got to check out Naomi's work. Stellar.
Do people say stellar anymore?
Did I even spell it right? I don't think so. >>

Summer's been going good. Since it's been about six weeks, I'll post from the beginning of June (read: forever ago).

Right away, freshman bandcamp. It was actually alot better than I thought it was going to be...or than I thought I was going to be, for that matter. Our freshman are cool, and they learned fast. They were excellent by Wednesday, as far as excellent goes. And they didn't ask to sit down once during the full band sectionals. I'm proud. ^^
I hung out from then to last Tuesday, doing math (my math course isn't finished. I should be done with it by the fourth though) and going to the beach off and on. Matt started a game night at Kristen's house for the crew. That was something else alot funner than I thought.
Last Friday I left for Atlanta, GA. I was kind of hoping for peach bowl weather (kidding, Matt), but got instead hotter noons than Florida. Try walking around - up hills. high. hills. - in 90-100 degree weather. Fun.
But seriously, I did have a good time. They have a brand new World of Coke, and closed the old one. It's better.
I took the CNN center tour, and got a picture at a news desk. Proof at my house.
Their new aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world now. We toured that with Mom's reception - she attended the ISTE conference, which was why we were on the trip. But while she toured vendor halls, we went sightseeing.

Got back Thursday. We've got the last of our pets back, and everything's unpacked. I kind of hope it stays that way for awhile, though - that was a long week.
I was open to doing stuff some night...but I'm waiting for certain people to get back from their trips. Hmph.

And up next...4th of July Parade. I'm estatic, really.

I'm sneaking on here. I'm still not allowed on LJ (so don't even. I know I haven't been on in forever. ><), but I had to post this to my friends like I did last year about this time:

Matt: I feel so happy that you made leadership and WS, but at the same time know that you're extremely disappointed with the results. I won't preach tonight about being grateful, because when you're hurt that doesn't help. Just know that I'm still so proud of you.

Mikayla: The same goes, and so much more. I know how much you wanted to be DM, and I couldn't help but wonder if someone like me kept you in a drastic turn of events. But that might just be me worrying.
I know you don't think anyone would ever understand, and that we don't understand now. I respect that. But in terms of hardship and not meeting your goals, you have still been extremely lucky. You'll do fine as section leader, and you can still conduct better than CK. ><

Sax Leadership: We will rock out loud next year. We will have section shirts and a sax dinner Mikayla! And this time, nothing to do with copyright. Please. ^^;

Cecile and Anita: I couldn't be happier with the steps you've taken to reach leadership, and even though you both took a role that you neither wanted nor imagined you would be sharing, you've both made me proud that you're succeeding the best class '08 next year. ;)

Alyssa: Congradulations on making jazz, WS, and leadership! Once again, '08 has shown that they got class! Keep those trumpets - and Matt - in line next year! :D

Congrats to everyone else, too. I have to go. Sorry...? :D
